Description
Philosophy: From ten years of experience in working with ADHD clients; I know that one of my sacred roles in the coaching relationship is to listen for what the client is doing right and to begin there. It is hard to accept what is going right when one has chosen to face a lifetime of boggles and challenges. If it?s just one person; alone; on a journey toward change; attention can get over-focused on what seems to not be working; and a destructive nagging inner critic can take hold. In the coaching partnership; there is a mutual holding of purpose; goals; choice; discovery and possibility. There is synergy in the partnership; and magic; greater than the sum of just one plus one. Identifying goals and needs; problem-solving; setting up supportive systems and planning doable next action steps is the everyday stuff of coaching. Learning how one learns best and how one makes change is a revealing and rewarding part of the journey. Learning about ADD from every perspective; and connecting to other people?s stories; how they as individuals with ADD have successfully navigated change; will always be an important part of the journey. At the very least; as a coach; I am a body double. I travel alongside my client; holding what he or she holds dearest and best; along with what has been kept secret and hidden. I have been entrusted to share in the journey. And while we travel together; discovering; de-boggling; identifying resources; and trying out new approaches; we will laugh. There may be true and deep moments of sadness; regret; or pain shared; but we will always laugh. - Work Experience: Linda S. Anderson; M.A.; M.C.C. began her business; Getting Clear; in 1994 integrating over twenty-five years of experience as a teacher; administrator; consultant and professional organizer. Today; she utilizes all of those skills in her coaching and works with ADHD professionals in a wide variety of careers both in the U.S. and abroad. She regularly presents at national and regional conferences and conducts trainings for professionals. Linda is a dedicated board member of the Attention Deficit Disorder Association and a co-founder the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers. Among various articles and tapes; she has written: ?The Body Double;? ?Could This Be Your Patient?? and ?Getting Clear And Organizing What?s Left.? She is a contributing author to the book; "Intentional Change" and a featured coach in the video; "Me; My ADD Coach and I." - Client Types: Adults; College Students; Business owners/Executives; Professionals; Entrepreneurs; Artists - Coaching Format: Phone; In Person - Personal Characteristics: Warm; friendly; and funny (this is beginning to sound like a personal ad;) I am deeply committed to working in the field of ADHD and coaching. I didn?t choose it. It chose me. I chose to learn about the brain; about how people with difficulties accomplished significant change; and the rest followed. I have a pretty good sense of humor and an abundance of creativity. I listen deeply. I am a real good sorter and container (verb). There are lots of ways to sort out the stuff of life; the tangible and intangible. I?m always learning more. I have an ability to keep balance in the middle of storm; chaos; uncertainty; and distraction. I do not haveADD; but it is all around me. I exercise. I learned how to do this later in life; and I am proud of that. I do a very simple short meditation called Tonglen. I have two beautiful girls; 20 and 22; an artist (ADD) husband and two handsome Maine coon cats. I have compassion and a certain degree of wisdom; which comes with age and life challenges met. P.S. I hope all this won?t go on my gravestone. - Additional Info: A thoughtful guiding question from the book; The Art of Possibility: `What assumption am I making; That I?m not aware I?m making; That gives me what I see?` - Fee: $360 - $600/month (3 sessions and email contact) when appropriate; I will also refer to experienced coaches who have coached with me whom I supervise and whose fees may be lower. There is a per session fee available for consult and follow-up.
